GVF It&ly Hairfashion - Milano - Italy

GVF - It&ly Hairfashion, founded in 1987, offers professional hair experts products and projects specifically tailored to beauty salons. The company has risen to success over the years both in Italy and abroad thanks to the quality of the service it offers and its ongoing research.
It&ly Hairfashion also sets the standard in training and information, and in 2011 it inaugurated the new premises of the GVF – It&ly Hairfashion Academy, choosing FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti and Iris Ceramica floor and wall tiles. The project involved conversion of an industrial building measuring about 13,000 square metres for use as the storage facilities, offices and showrooms of a Beauty Village with a focus on people and the environment.
One of the project’s goals was to make the company the first producer of hair and beauty products to achieve the goal of zero environmental impact.
The project attempted to represent excellent environmental performance using advanced technologies, optimising use of water and energy (reducing consumption of water, electricity and gas) and using environmentally sustainable materials. FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti and Iris Ceramica materials were chosen for their particular size, technical properties and beauty (particularly their brightness and elegance), the possibility of producing unusual shapes with water jet cutting, and the company's environmental philosophy.
The offices, entrance and events room have Onice raised floors (porcelain tile from FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti's Shine collection, in the 60x60 size), a brilliant, slightly wavy surface with a white background. The contrasting flooring in the café, waiting area and bathrooms is made of Brown Stone Extra (porcelain tile from the Shine collection in the 60x60 and 60x120 sizes), brilliant mocha coloured floor and wall tiles with brown veins. The floor and walls in the practice area, which includes halls, bathrooms, dressing rooms and a second events hall, are tiled with Caracalla (from Iris Ceramica's Travertini Imperiali collection, in the 60x60, 30x60 and mosaic sizes), porcelain stoneware tiles reproducing natural travertine with a beige background and veins in different hues of brown.
